Why Label Edge Clearance Matters for Recessed Panel Quality
A label intended for a recessed panel should sit on the usable landing surface. The visible perimeter of the recess can include a rounded transition into the side wall. If a label corner lands on that transition, the adhesive may have less contact even though the artwork appears centered. Where clearance is tight, ordinary variation in part dimensions, label cut and placement can move the edge off the landing surface.

Find the smallest clearance
Compare the label outline with the drawing and with decorated samples. Look at all four sides and the corners, especially where the recess tapers or the radius changes. Measure to the start of the transition using an agreed reference rather than the outer decorative border. Check several production representative parts and note the narrowest point.
Look again after conditioning
A label can sit flat just after application and show a lifted corner later. Check the samples after the agreed settling period and after relevant handling or exposure. If the issue appears on one side only, compare placement before changing the cut size. If repeated samples touch the transition even when centered, reassess the label shape, recess geometry or allowed placement variation.
