Moving Filled Eyeshadow Pans: Trace When Powder Damage Appears

When existing filled eyeshadow pans move into a new compact, damage can appear even if the pan outline fits. The useful question is when the change first becomes visible: during removal from the old case, placement in the new one, lid closure or later handling. Separating these stages avoids blaming the new well for damage that began earlier.

Establish the condition before transfer

Record the powder surface, rim and pan bottom before removal. Where possible, compare with filled pans that have never been bonded into another case. A pan recovered from an existing compact has a handling history that an unused pan does not share.

Removal forces applied to the pan can bend it or disturb the pressed product. Do not assume that a glued assembly is designed for consumer replacement. Any proposed heat, solvent or mechanical removal process needs approval from the packaging and formula teams; a process that releases an adhesive may also alter the powder, pan or decoration.

Inspect after placement, before closing the lid

Keep the pan supported as intended and inspect for rocking, deformation and new powder cracks. Residual adhesive, a different fixing layer or an uneven seating surface can change the installed position. The case well supports the separate pan; it is not itself the confirmed powder container.

If a new mark appears before the lid is closed, lid contact cannot explain that first appearance. Review the removal and placement stages. Compare a recovered pan with an otherwise matching unused one to help distinguish transfer history from the new case's fit.

Then isolate closure and handling

Check the assembled height against the closed lid and mirror, including the actual powder surface and fixing arrangement. A correct pan footprint does not establish vertical clearance. Close the sample normally without forcing it, then inspect again. Stop if there is unintended contact or resistance.

Only after placement and closure have been reviewed should agreed handling or transport checks be used to examine later damage. Record the first changed condition and compare appropriate control samples. Powder on a mirror after transport does not, by itself, prove direct mirror contact: loose particles can move after the cake breaks elsewhere.

This staged comparison separates pan fit from the history of the filled product. For a Sambound case selected through sambound.com, keep the pan source, transfer process, fixing arrangement and inspection results together. An empty-case approval does not establish that a recovered filled pan will survive transfer.
